Producer Andrea Bucko (Longlegs, Oh, Canada, Bucking Fastard) has launched the new development fund, finance company, and production banner Raised by Wolves. The company was co-founded with Jordan Claire Robbins (“The Umbrella Academy”, “Supernatural”, Anon) and will focus mainly on film, TV, and entertainment projects that showcase a range of narratives and break boundaries.
Bucko is a producer under Sugar Rush Pictures, her own banner, and aims to amplify voices and innovative filmmakers with projects that represent three qualities embodied by wolves: strength, endurance, and rebellion.
Raised by Wolves has invested in several films so far, including the Cate Blanchett-led Alpha Gang; Dito Montiel’s Captivated starring Al Pacino and Katie Holmes; and Gus Van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire starring Bill Skarsgård, which has recently wrapped filming. In addition to investing in these through Raised by Wolves, Bucko produced these films under Sugar Rush Pictures.
“Raised by Wolves was named as a reflection of the sense of community, strength, unity, and purpose of wolves. We operate with the mission of collaborating with the best in the industry while ensuring the stories it brings to life reflect the unwavering spirit of our namesake animal,” said Andrea Bucko. “As a female-founded company, we take great pride in our work and in the relationships we build with other passionate, like-minded creators. From producers to directors to writers, we stand behind those whose talent and vision continue to reshape the landscape of filmmaking.”
Award-winning film producer Nini Le Huynh (“House of Cards”, The Dark of Knight, 8:15) will be the company’s creative executive. Including its current invested projects, Raised by Wolves has three upcoming development deals.
Raised by Wolves is backed by private investments from various family offices, and is represented by Sacker Entertainment Law.
