Mickey Rourke Starts GoFundMe to Prevent Eviction from Los Angeles Residence

According to news from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Mickey Rourke launched a GoFundMe earlier today after being served an eviction notice to pay $60,000.00 in back rent or vacate his home in Los Angeles.

In December, the actor was served a notice to pay $59,100 in back rent he allegedly owes, or to vacate his Los Angeles property within three days. Liya-Joelle Jones, a member of Rourke’s management team, per The Hollywood Reporter, organized the fundraiser. Titled “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home,” the GoFundMe has a stated fundraising goal of $100,000. It has already raised around $20,000.

The fundraiser states, “Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home…Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.” “The goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet,” the fundraiser description continues. “Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. If you’re not able to contribute, sharing this page is also a huge help. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.”

Rourke is best known for his roles in Diner, Rumble Fish, 9 1/2 Weeks, Sin City, The Wrestler, Iron Man 2, The Expendables, and Immortals.
