Quiver Distribution announced today that they have acquired North American rights to Grace and Grit, based on iconic philosopher Ken Wilber’s acclaimed book of the same name chronicling his wife Treya’s journals. Written and directed by British-American filmmaker Sebastian Siegel as his debut feature, the romantic drama stars BAFTA Award nominated Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie franchise), Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, “Betrayal”), Academy Award nominated Mariel Hemingway (Manhattan, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace) and Frances Fisher (The Host, Titanic, “Watchmen”). The transcendent tale was also produced by Sebastian Siegel alongside Eric Brenner (Crazy Heart, Boychoir) and Lucas Jarach.
Grace and Grit tells the true love story of iconic philosopher Ken Wilber (Townsend) and his wife Treya (Suvari) in 1980s California as they fall madly in love and are faced with illness and challenges that threaten to tear them apart.
Larry Greenberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Quiver Distribution with producer Eric Brenner. Executive producers are Jim Jacobsen, Sabrina Zaretti, John Cataudella, Isa Jonay and Blerim Ramosaj, and Patricia Taylor.
