Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Luke Kleintank To Star In Stephan Rick’s German Thriller Remake THE GOOD NEIGHBOR

Forma Pro Films announced today that Golden Globe Award winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors,” “Vikings”) and Luke Kleintank (Midway, “The Man in the High Castle”) will star in The Good Neighbor.  The thriller will be directed by Stephan Rick (The Dark Side of the Moon, The Super), from a script by Rick and Ross Partridge (“Room 104”) and a remake of Rick’s successful German thriller Unter Nackbarn.  Dean Altit (Misfits, Realms) and Yulia Zayceva (WarHuntWelcome to Mercy) are producing.  Kia Jam and Igor Pronin are executive producing with casting by Ricki Maslar.  CAA Media Finance is handling domestic sales, with Highland Film Group handling international sales.

On a fateful night out, new neighbors David and Robert find themselves bonded by a hit-and-run accident.  When the dead girl’s sister shows up to investigate, David, overcome with guilt, wonders if he can find redemption while Robert is determined to bury the past and keep his new friend for himself, no matter the cost.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers previously won a Golden Globe Award for his performance in CBS’ limited series “Elvis” and received multiple nominations for Showtime’s “The Tudors.”  He also starred in NBC’s “Dracula” and History Channel’s Emmy® Award winning “Vikings.”  Additional credits include: Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible III, Warner Bros’ Academy Award® nominated August Rush, Sony’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and Focus Features’ Vanity Fair.

Luke Kleintank recently starred in Lionsgate’s Midway, Warner Bros’ The Goldfinch and Max, and Amazon Prime’s Emmy® Award winning “The Man in the High Castle.”  He previously had recurring roles on CBS’ Emmy® Award winner “The Young and the Restless,” ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” and CBS’ Emmy® Award nominated “Person of Interest.”

German writer and director Stephan Rick is behind the German thriller The Dark Side of the Moon and television series including “Allein gegen die Zeit” and “Die Pfefferkörner.”  Rick directed The Super, starring Val Kilmer, which marked his English language debut.
