ETERNALS FIRST REACTIONS WILL EXTEND MCU’S FILM STREAK TO PRODIGIOUS 26-0

Chloe Zhao’s upcoming feature, Eternals, was unveiled for the first time last night at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. Suffering a series of delays for a year, the intriguing work will make its way to theaters on November 5th.

While folks will have to wait for the full reviews to be dropped (the embargo lifts October 24th), the early reactions have praised Zhao’s work considerably. Many have noted its rich mythology, cinematic atmosphere, heart, humor, and spectacular ensemble cast. From the marketing and previews, it is Marvel Studios boldest work as of late. The term “bold” evolves in this franchise considerably from The Avengers to Guardians of the Galaxy to Captain America: Civil War to Thor: Ragnarok.

Thus, the MCU film streak strengthens to a stupendous 26-0.

If many have not seen Chloe Zhao’s works, they must see Nomadland and The Rider. Both films are universally acclaimed, with the former winning three Academy Awards (including Best Picture). And Eternals appears to be another gem in the rising director’s collection.

Eternals, the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is written and directed by Zhao. It stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.

It releases on November 5th, 2021 in the U.S. and U.K., with an exclusive theatrical release for a minimum of 45 days before heading to Disney+.
