Castle Rock Entertainment has announced that Gil Birmingham (Wind River, “Yellowstone,” “Under The Banner of Heaven”), Alan Ruck (“Succession,” “The Dropout”), Kali Reis (“True Detective,” Catch the Fair One, Black Flies), and Tatanka Means (Killers of the Flower Moon, “Reservation Dogs,” “Echo”) have joined the cast of the sequel to the 2017 award-winning crime drama, Wind River: The Next Chapter, directed by Emmy nominee and BAFTA award winner Kari Skogland. Birmingham will reprise his role as ‘Martin’ and join Jason Clarke, Scott Eastwood, Chaske Spencer, and Martin Sensmeier, who reprises his role as ‘Chip Hanson.’ Production is currently underway in Calgary.

Patrick Massett & John Zinman have penned the screenplay to Wind River: The Next Chapter. Terror has escalated on the Wind River reservation as a series of ritualistic murders remain unsolved. The FBI enlists Chip Hanson, a newly minted tracker for the U.S. Fish & Game, who becomes embroiled in a desperate and dangerous fight between the authorities, a vigilante, and the Reservation he calls home.

The film is being produced by Matthew George for Castle Rock Entertainment and Acacia Filmed Entertainment, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee for Thunder Road Pictures.  Executive Producers include Castle Rock’s Rob Reiner, Michele Reiner, Derrick Rossi, Jonathan Fuhrman, Courtney Shepard, Hernan Narea, and Nomadic Pictures’ Chad Oakes and Michael Frislev and Bright White Light’s Wayne Marc Godfrey, Nicki Cortese and Ashland Hill Media Finance’s Joe Simpson and Simon Williams.
