January Doc Soup Screening Features Toronto Premiere of THE COWBOY AND THE QUEEN

Brought to you by Academy Award-nominated, Emmy Award-winning director Andrea Nevins, The Cowboy and the Queen tells the story of the extraordinary friendship between renegade cowboy Monty Roberts and iconic British monarch Queen Elizabeth II.

Overcoming his own abusive past, Roberts revolutionized centuries-old methods of “breaking” horses through violence and cruelty by choosing gentleness instead, becoming what is now known as a horse whisperer. Eventually summoned to England to train horses in the Royal Stables, his friendship with the Queen lasted decades until her death.

The Cowboy and the Queen not only celebrates their remarkable friendship but also Roberts’ view that kindness and connection are more powerful than brutality and that openness and communication can bridge worlds if given the chance.
