Ben Petrie’s ‘The Heirloom’ to Premiere in NYC

Control-freak filmmaker Eric (Ben Petrie) reluctantly agrees to adopt rescue dog Milly hoping to assert his leadership through strict training. However, his newfound sense of purpose spirals into artistic obsession and disrupts his relationship with Allie, who grapples with her buried emotions and deeper calling in life.

Petrie writes, directs, and stars alongside real-life partner Grace Glowicki, centering the film around their experiences and relationship during the COVID-19 lockdown. The Heirloom marks Petrie’s feature debut while continuing the couple’s collaborations, first beginning with the 2016 short Her Friend Adam.

The film opens at Brooklyn’s Spectacle Theatre on March 21.
