Academy Award Winner Diane Keaton, Known for ‘Annie Hall’, Passes Away at 79

Rest In Peace to Diane Keaton.

Having a career that spanned nearly sixty years, Ms. Keaton has received an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, and has excelled in several other roles in the world of cinema. Having won the Oscar for her performance in Annie Hall, she was also nominated for Best Actress in Marvin’s Room, Something’s Gotta Give, and Reds. In 1969, she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam.

Keaton made a stark impression entering the Hollywood realm with her role as Kay Adams-Corleone in The Godfather series, having appeared in all three entries.

Her ongoing collaboration with Woody Allen for eccentric roles in the 1970s propelled her career further, and she would go on to have memorable roles in Mrs. Soffel, Crimes of the Heart, Radio Days, Father of the Bride (and its sequel), and more. Her last major films included Finding Dory, Book Club (and its sequel), with her final onscreen role in Summer Camp.

In 2017, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, with Allen serving as the presenter.

Keaton is survived by her adopted daughter, Dexter, and son, Duke.
