Hari Nef (BARBIE, THE IDOL) is starring alongside Louisa Jacobson (THE GILDED AGE, MATERIALISTS) and Oliver Edwin (LBJ, DIVORCE) in Edwin’s directorial debut from his original script, the high-concept psychological drama SITUATION #64. The film quietly wrapped production in Skaneateles, New York last month.
The film follows Nef as a performance artist and Edwin as her former performance partner and lover, as they begin rehearsing their final performance piece. When his new partner (Jacobson) joins them and secrets of their past emerge, the gap between their work and reality blurs. SITUATION #64 explores the price of a life dedicated to art.
The film will mark Hari Nef’s first as a producer following her high-profile turn in Greta Gerwig’s billion dollar-grossing BARBIE and HBO’s THE IDOL. A New York-based actress and writer, Nef is also set to star as Candy Darling in an as-yet untitled biopic which she also wrote, and will produce. Other notable credits include the Amazon original series TRANSPARENT and THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, Netflix’s YOU, HBO Max’s AND JUST LIKE THAT, horror film BAD THINGS, and Neon’s ASSASSINATION NATION.

Situation #64 is the kind of film I have always wanted to do, and unlike any I’ve done yet,” said Hari Nef.
Louisa Jacobson is best known for starring in Julian Fellowes’ Emmy-nominated HBO series, THE GILDED AGE, opposite Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon and for her pivotal role in Celine Song’s MATERIALISTS opposite Dakota Johnson. This is her first project announcement following HBO’s THE GILDED AGE Season 3 finale.
For producers Lizzie Shapiro and Lexi Tannenholtz of The Space Program, the announcement follows their Cannes debut of THE PLAGUE, directed by Charlie Polinger and starring Joel Edgerton, which will be released by the Independent Film Company this month. THE PLAGUE was recently nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards including Best Feature and a Critic’s Choice Award. SITUATION #64 is also being produced by Jason De Beer of Escape Route Films and Jake Casey of The Dazey Phase.
