Returning to zero is not an option. GODZILLA MINUS ZERO picks up in 1949, two years after the tumultuous events of Godzilla Minus One, and continues the story of the Shikishima family as they face an all-new calamity.

The sequel will be written and directed once more by Takashi Yamazaki. Yamazaki helmed the predecessor in 2023, which went on to earn $116 million worldwide on a $10 million budget, becoming the third-highest earning Japanese film of 2023. It won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
