Avengers: Doomsday Becomes the Centerpiece; Endgame Re-Releases in Theaters on September
The crown jewel of the evening was Avengers: Doomsday. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo joined Kevin Feige on stage before introducing an extraordinary ensemble cast that underscored the colossal scale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next crossover event.
Audiences were treated to an exclusive trailer depicting an apocalyptic confrontation between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the formidable Victor Von Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. The footage highlighted escalating tensions between Doom and Reed Richards while revealing a terrifying army of Sentinels wreaking havoc across multiple realities. Ryan Gosling Officially Joins the MCU as Ghost Rider
Well, it only took long enough. One of the most sensational announcements came when Marvel Studios officially introduced Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling as the latest Ghost Rider, which will be released in 2028. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, whose recent collaborations with Marvel have earned widespread acclaim. Levy recently worked with Gosling, with Levy taking the stage to state, “We spent a lot of time last year making Star Wars: Starfighter…and as Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started riffing, and I finally said, ‘Bro, let’s ride.’ So guys, we’ll see you in 2028.”
Black Panther 3 Officially Announced, Ryan Coogler Returns to Direct
Black Panther 3 is officially moving forward under the visionary direction of Ryan Coogler (who helmed the first two installments, and who’s coming off a hot streak with Sinners receiving several Academy Award wins and nominations).
David Jonsson will inherit the mantle of Black Panther by portraying T’Challa’s son, continuing the Wakandan legacy introduced at the conclusion of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke will also reprise their roles. The film is slated to arrive in theaters on December 15, 2028; this further cements Wakanda’s enduring importance within the MCU, along the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series.
(Grey) Deadpool Crashes the Party and Wants To Be Added to Doomsday
In quintessential Deadpool fashion, Ryan Reynolds made an unexpected entrance dressed in a muted gray variation of the Merc with a Mouth’s costume. The usual irreverence made his humor available to all the patrons, while he asked the million-dollar question of why Thor was crying (a little nod to his outing in 2024). It may be a subliminal call that Reynolds will be returning with a fourth chapter of Deadpool, although any details or announcements have been kept off to the sidelines.
And An Exclusive Clip of Spider-Man: Brand New Day
And Jon Bernthal stopped by Hall H to tease an exclusive look at the film, showcasing the relationship between his Punisher and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as they face off against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The film opens in theaters on July 31, 2026.
No mentions of Mahershala Ali’s Blade, Nova, Armor Wars, or Shang-Chi 2 at this time.
