The Future of James Bond? Upcoming News on 26th Film Under The Banner

Well, some news is coming in about the 26th James Bond film.

Last year, news erupted that Amazon MGM spent $1 billion to acquire the creative rights to the franchise from Eon Productions. They will have full creative control over the franchise.

Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Dune Trilogy, Blade Runner 2049) will direct the next film, with Steven Knight writing the screenplay.

According to Deadline, screen tests began at the end of October, and some folks in the screenings are Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, and Josh O’Connor. Variety has reported that Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult have joined the fray. Harry Styles has discussed the part, along with Theo James. Amazon has declined to comment on casting rumors.

As part of the speculation, the next James Bond film will most likely target a 2028 release. The previous James Bond film, No Time to Die, earned $774.2 million in 2021, and Daniel Craig played the role for the final time.
