Quiver Distribution announced today that Andrew Dice Clay (A Star is Born, Blue Jasmine, Hulu’s “Pam and Tommy”) and Jordan Johnson-Hinds (“The Endgame,” Ambush) will star in the upcoming basketball drama Warrior Strong. Written by Dan Gordon (Irena’s Vow, Wyatt Earp, Passenger 57) and directed by Shane Belcourt (Red Rover), the feature is being produced by Nicholas Tabarrok and Leah Jaunzems for Darius Films with Quiver’s Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman and Larry Greenberg executive producing. Filming began this week in Northern Ontario, Canada. Quiver has acquired worldwide rights and will be introducing the film for sale at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
In Warrior Strong, when basketball protege and egocentric Bilal Irving (Johnson-Hinds) is asked to be the assistant coach of the Dumont Warriors (his former high school team) alongside Coach Avery Schmidt (Clay), Bilal soon learns that true coaching involves far more than simply teaching the game. Will this rag-tag team of misfits have what it takes to put aside their differences and become Warrior Strong?

American stand-up comedian, actor, and musician, Andrew Dice Clay was the first stand-up comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden for two consecutive nights. Clay has appeared in several films and television shows, including critically acclaimed roles in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut A Star Is Born, Showtime’s semi-autobiographical series “Dice,” and hosts a podcast, “I’m Ova Hea’ Now.” He most recently starred in Hulu’s “Pam and Tommy” and continues touring and performing stand-up.
