Quiver Distribution Acquires North American rights to John Swab’s Horror Thriller CANDY LAND

Quiver Distribution announced today that they have acquired North American rights to Candy Land, another feature film collaboration from the duo of writer/director, John Swab, and producer, Jeremy M. Rosen (Ida Red, Body Brokers, and Run With The Hunted).  The film will continue its successful festival run (World Premiere at Locarno Film Festival, FrightFest, Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, Stockholm International Fantastic Film Festival, Irish Film Institute Horrorthon, Imagine Fantastic Film Festival, Grimmfest, and the upcoming Paris International Fantastic Film Festival, Fantastic Film Festival Australia, and North American bi-coastal premieres on December 1, 2022 in Los Angeles and Opening Night at New York City Horror Film Festival) prior to its theatrical and VOD release on January 6, 2023.

The film stars Olivia Luccardi (It Follows), Eden Brolin (“Yellowstone”), Sam Quartin (Body Brokers), Owen Campbell (X), Virginia Rand (I Am Fear), Brad Carter (“Ozark”), Guinevere Turner (American Psycho), and Billy Baldwin (Backdraft).

Candy Land follows Remy (Olivia Luccardi), a seemingly naive and devout young woman, who finds herself cast out from her religious cult.  With no place to turn, she immerses herself into the underground world of truck stop sex workers a.k.a. “lot lizards,” courtesy of her hosts, Sadie (Sam Quartin), Riley (Eden Brolin), Liv (Virginia Rand) and Levi (Owen Campbell).  Under the watchful eye of their matriarch, Nora (Guinevere Turner), and enigmatic local lawman, Sheriff Rex (Billy Baldwin), Remy navigates between her strained belief system and the lot lizard code to find her true calling in life.

Candy Land is written and directed by John Swab, and produced by Swab and Jeremy M. Rosen, who also music supervised, with a score from multi-GRAMMY® Award winning producer, David Sardy, and memorable needle drops from the likes of Porno For Pyros, Dwight Twilley, and Crowded House.  Robert Ogden Barnum and Michael Reiser serve as executive producers.
