List of Most Anticipated Films of 2023: Marvel, ‘Creed 3,’ ‘Super Mario Bros’ and More

Unusual years make for unique, uh, results in the Hollywood realm. Everyone and everything released has done their utmost best in attempting to bring back audiences, as major studios spent significant time frolicking with streaming service promotions, simultaneous releases, and about every other tactic in the playbook to keep one invested while sticking at home. Since 2020, things have been looking up again as Hollywood is learning to pull back in the blockbusters while venturing out to bring healthy non-IP titles and kickstarters for offshore franchises.

Is all going to reverse this year? Most assuredly not, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t any incredible films to look forward to. Look at the most enticing releases of this year and the ones assuredly attempting to steal the box office success away!

A solid collection, but, now, moving on to the colossal ones of 2023:

All Three Marvel Cinematic Universe Titles (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Marvels)

This is obvious, but per Kevin Feige’s schedule, we’re getting a slew of new Marvel films this year. The sequels/threequels promise to offer great insight into Phase 5 of the MCU. They will undoubtedly secure lots of attention as we meet new folks such as Will Poulter’s debut as Adam Warlock and Jonathan Majors marking his footsteps as the next big crossover villain, Kang The Conqueror. James Gunn will bring an emotional end to the Guardians series, and Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will team up with Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel.

Creed III

Michael B. Jordan makes his directorial debut while starring as Adonis Creed, who battles his former friend-turned-foe Damian Anderson (played by Jonathan Majors).

John Wick: Chapter 4

Keanu Reeves returns for more kick-ass action and gun skills in a desperate attempt to attain his character’s freedom.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

A star-studded cast will finally bring the Mushroom Kingdom alive on the big screen; Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) will team up with Luigi (voiced by Charlie Day) to save the world from King Bowser’s (Jack Black) destruction.

Fast X

The tenth installment finds the family led by Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto on another ridiculous car-stunt adventure as they continue to battle Cipher (Charlize Theron) and a new foe (played by Jason Momoa).

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

The sequel to the best animated Spidey picture finally arrives as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy battle other Spider-Men variants across the multiverse.

The Flash

It took an unbelievably long time after Ezra Miller’s legal troubles. Still, he finally gets his solo film with multiverse consequences and the return of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton in the role of Batman.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Harrison Ford returns in the long-awaited, final journey with the archeologist role, with James Mangold directing this time.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Tom Cruise returns to the big screen with another display of breathtaking sequences in the spy thriller franchise, as Part Two joins next year in wrapping up the arc for Ethan Hunt.

Oppenheimer

A star-studded cast under the direction of Christopher Nolan gets an original feature detailing J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the creators of the atomic bomb.
