It was revealed today that Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Watcher) is starring opposite Academy Award®-winner Nicolas Cage in the horror/thriller LONGLEGS for Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group (Babylon). Principal photography is now underway in Vancouver, Canada.
Monroe had her breakthrough in the cult horror hit It Follows and will play an FBI Agent opposing Nicolas Cage as the titular serial killer “Longlegs.” Cage is currently enjoying a career resurgence with critically acclaimed roles in Pig, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and the upcoming Butcher’s Crossing.
The film is written and directed by Osgood Perkins – an exciting genre talent, best known for writing and directing I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives In The House and The Blackcoat’s Daughter and directing the stylish and acclaimed Gretel & Hansel.
In LONGLEGS, FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.
LONGLEGS arrives as the horror genre experiences phenomenal success at the global box office, with films such as M3gan, Smile, Nope and Black Phone – all exceeding expectations.
Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group is producing and fully financing LONGLEGS.
