Bruce “Busta” Soscia to Add Yet Another Starring Film Role To His Ever-Widening Repertoire

Bruce “Busta” Soscia known for his roles in such films as “Dog Gone” on Netflix with Rob Lowe and “Gravesend” on Amazon Prime, is once again on a pre-production set.  This time he’s starring in “Stray,” a film based on a memoir by Stacey Caputi Liakos addressing addiction and death, abuse and crime, set to be shot this year in Rhode Island where Bruce grew up.

“STRAY” is a story of love, with many added twists of addiction, crime, violence, ultimatums, and failures.

“While there are sad, scary parts to this film, our goal is to authentically depict hard truths of generational curses and shine a light in a dark hallway on a story to which sadly too many in our society can relate,” said Soscia.

In doing this film, Soscia hopes to increase awareness of social issues like suicide and mental illness while giving a positive spin and support system for those in need.

Soscia introduced Stacey to Hollywood filmmaker Michael Blevins who is writing the screenplay and will produce and direct the movie so close to Soscia’s heart as he saw his cousin Ray battle his demons until ultimately succumbing to them when Stacey had left him after so many of her ultimatums went unfulfilled. Having the unwavering support from Steven Feinberg, the state of Rhode Island’s Film Commissioner has been a major motivating factor as well, especially with viable tax incentives, said Soscia.

“Stray” is set to film in the fall of 2024 in Rhode Island and then hit theaters and streaming. Soscia and Stacey demanded the film be backdropped in RI to capture the ambience and authenticity of the storyline and bring jobs to the local economy. Soscia plans to showcase the film to various networks who’ll see not only the good it can do, but the ratings it will bring.
