Bill Pullman and Daniel Zovatto Joins Star-Studded Cast of Thriller FAMOUS

Black Bear, Esmail Corp. and Caviar has announced that Bill Pullman (Independence Day, “The Sinner”) and Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour, “Station Eleven”) have joined the star-studded cast of celebrity thriller Famous from director Jody Hill (Observe & Report, “Eastbound & Down”). Zac Efron was previously announced to lead the picture, with Phoebe Dynevor, Nicholas Braun, Stephanie Koenig, Debby Ryan, Mekki Leeper, and Cory Michael Smith in supporting roles. Production is currently underway in Los Angeles.

Famous is a provocative and highly entertaining Los Angeles-set thriller that explores the dark side of celebrity, and the lengths people will go to attain it. Efron stars in dual roles, playing both overzealous fan, Lance Dunkquist and Hollywood heartthrob, James Jansen. The film is based on the acclaimed novel by New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch and was adapted for the screen by Chad Hodge, who also adapted Crouch’s Wayward Pines trilogy into a series.

Bill Pullman is a veteran of the screen and stage, best known for his role as President Whitmore in the Independence Day franchise. He has also starred in such beloved films as sci-fi comedy Spaceballs and Nora Ephron romance Sleepless in Seattle, and led USA Network’s thrilling crime series “The Sinner.” He most recently portrayed Alex Murdaugh in the Lifetime special event The Murdaugh Murders and can next be seen in the Netflix supernatural series “The Boroughs” opposite Geena Davis, created by the Duffer Brothers of “Stranger Things” acclaim.

Daniel Zovatto is coming off a haunting star turn as “The Dating Game” serial killer Rodney Alcala in Woman of the Hour, Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut. He also held a recurring role as “The Prophet” in the post-apocalyptic series “Station Eleven” on HBO Max and has featured in such cult favorite horror films as It Follows and Don’t Breathe. Up next for Zovatto is tropical thriller Headhunters opposite Kevin Costner.
