Chadwick Boseman Receives Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

This past Thursday, a king finally received the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Chadwick Boseman, known for his roles in 42, Get on Up, Marshall, and as the titular superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was honored by friends and family with one last great memento following his death from colon cancer in 2020.

Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler, and Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, made their appearances on the carpet to honor the actor (per reports from CNN).

Boseman’s wife in the closing moments shared, “Chad, today we recognize a lifetime of artistry. We recognize your skill and your devotion and we cement your legacy as a hero and icon,” she said. “You lived with honor and you walked in truth. You were as brilliant as you were beautiful and as courageous as you were kind. We love you, we miss you and we thank you.”

Boseman got to play the roles onscreen of Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, and Jackie Robinson during his robust career. His involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as T’Challa/Black Panther propelled him to considerable heights, thanks to excellent performances in Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther, as well as his reprisal of the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is dedicated to his memory, while his last onscreen role after his death was Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, in which he received several posthumous awards and nominations (including an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor).

Long live the king of Wakanda, and a genuine inspiration for the film industry.
