The live-action version, starring Elizabeth Banks as Ms. Frizzle, is gaining momentum after being stuck in a purgatory of sorts since 2020. Legendary Entertainment has acquired the rights from Universal Pictures, and Rob Letterman will sign on to direct the piece. Legendary Pictures gaining the rights means that another nostalgic chapter will be put in their hands, especially after the recent success of A Minecraft Movie, which neared $1 billion worldwide in its theatrical run.
