Gabriel Bateman Joins UNHINGED Starring Russell Crowe

Following his breakout performance as the star of Child’s Play, the reimagining of the iconic 1988 classicGabriel Bateman has joined the cast of Unhinged, the psychological thriller from Solstice Studios starring Academy Award Winner Russell Crowe and Caren Pistorius. The film is directed by Derrick Borte (American Dreamer),written by Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia, Red Eye) and produced by Lisa Ellzey (WarriorKingdom of Heaven). 

Unhinged takes an ordinary, everyday incident to its most terrifying conclusion in telling the story of Rachel (Pistorius), a mother who leans on her horn at the wrong time, to the wrong guy (Crowe). “Road rage” doesn’t begin to describe what he’s about to do to her and everyone she knows.  Production is currently underway in New Orleans, with Solstice targeting a third quarter 2020 wide U.S. theatrical release.

Bateman, who successfully headlined the revival of the Child’s Play franchise and starred in the James Wan-produced box office hit Lights Out, will be the lead as the voice of ‘Charlie’ in the animated film, Playmobil: The Movie opposite Anya Taylor-Joy, Daniel Radcliffe, and Adam Lambert set to premiere in 2019.  Other upcoming projects include leading roles in Think Like a Dog and Robert the Bruce, which recently premiered at Edinburgh Film Festival.  Previous credits also include leading roles in The Dangerous Book for Boys;Carter in the reboot of the 1974 family classic, Benji.  Bateman is represented by Coast to Coast Talent Group.
