The thriller’s fifth and final season is set to air on April 24, with protagonist Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) returning to Mooney’s Bookstore in his native New York in a one-minute clip.
Season 5 of You was announced shortly after the second part of season 4 premiered in March 2023. Showrunner Sera Gamble stepped down, with co-runners Justin Lo and Michael Foley stepping in as her successors.
The previous season saw Joe as a professor in London, continuing his cycle of starting life over in new locations. Troubled by a killer at large that isn’t him, Joe investigates his circle of acquaintances while struggling to maintain his identity and sanity. Discovering the murderer was none other than himself and his hallucinations of political candidate Rhys Montrose (Ed Speelers) weren’t real, Joe and love interest Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie) move back to New York and begin a philanthropic life.
In addition to Badgley and Ritchie, the cast of Season 5 features SAG Award nominee Anna Camp (“True Blood”), Emmy nominee Nava Mau (“Baby Reindeer”), Madeline Brewer, Griffin Matthews, and more.
