Score a Spot at the 2025 BlackStar Festival

The William and Louise Greaves Filmmaker Seminar is a yearly gathering of Black, Brown, and Indigenous cinematic artists who can debut their work and participate in workshop programs such as decolonial screenwriting, animation, and more. 

A three-day event held in Palo Alto, California, the seminar will feature a director’s commentary from Zeinabu irene Davis on her 1999 film Compensation, as well as a keynote address by experimental artist Suneil Sanzgiri. 

The deadline to submit a film is March 1. Aspiring filmmakers are encouraged to submit their short or feature-length films regardless of genre for consideration and screening!
