New Biography “Greta” Debuting in June

Author and journalist Selena Fragassi explores Greta Gerwig’s life and career in her new book, Greta: The Work, Life, and Style of Greta Gerwig. Fragassi focuses on Gerwig’s influences and how she has impacted the Hollywood industry and beyond.

Best known for her 2023 blockbuster Barbie, 2019 adaptation of Little Women, and 2017’s award-winning Lady Bird, Gerwig is an actress, writer, and director whose expertise offers a deeper dive into the creative processes of her filmography. Greta aims to answer the questions of Gerwig’s motivations to create socially conscious, artistic films and how her works have inspired young women to make their creative passions a reality.

Directing four, writing 12, and acting in 26 films, Greta also examines Gerwig’s effect on indie cinema, female identity, and her methods of bringing more women into the film industry. Including quotes from Gerwig and close collaborators about her work and ambitions. Greta is a fascinating account of the filmmaker’s career journey and the possibilities that await her.
