‘It Ends With Us’ Officially Ends With a Settlement

Well, it finally came about, and it ended with a settlement.

Yes, the blood/defamation feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has come to an official end. The bitterness erupted in 2024 after the release of It Ends With Us, with Lively slamming Baldoni for sexual harassment and public defamation claims. Baldoni responded with a defamation lawsuit, alleging that Lively destroyed his professional reputation and that she attempted to sabotage the production’s creative work on set. Both sides continued to file countersuits and make attacks on one another for almost a year and a half. The courts dropped 10 of Lively’s 13 claims in April, and the remainder were settled today.

Earlier today, a joint statement was released along with the news of the settlement (reported by Variety):

“The end product – the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind. We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”

It Ends With Us earned $351 million worldwide on a $25 million budget.
