Shout! Studios, the multi-platform entertainment distribution and production arm of Shout! Factory, has acquired North American rights to the sci-fi comedy-drama LINOLEUM from Sub_Sequential Picture, following a competitive bidding situation. The announcement comes on the heels of the film’s successful world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and its Sloan Science on Screen Award win at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Written and directed by Colin West (Double Walker), Jim Gaffigan (Grammy-nominated stand-up comedian, The Jim Gaffigan Show, upcoming Peter Pan & Wendy) and Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul, Veep) lead an impressive cast that includes Katelyn Nacon (The Walking Dead, T@gged), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Amy Hargreaves (Homeland, 13 Reasons Why), Roger Hendricks Simon (Love in Kilnerry, The Sublet), Elizabeth Henry (The Sisterhood of Night, Behind the Mirror), West Duchovny (A Mouthful of Air, The Report) with Michael Ian Black (Wet Hot American Summer, The State), and Tony Shalhoub (Monk, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). LINOLEUM is produced by Dennis Masel and executive produced by Gabrielle Nadig of Storm City Films, produced by Chad Simpson of Brain Scratch Productions, and Chadd Harbold.
LINOLEUM is a profoundly personal and inventive story that weaves life-altering generational moments into a cosmic tapestry of human experiences. The film received critical praises out of SXSW, with Deadline’s Pete Hammond calling it “an emotional adventure of the mind” while IGN’s Matt Donato praised director Colin West for “plucks heartstrings that inspire our zest for lives lived to the fullest, creating something outstandingly emotional.”
Shout! Studios has secured all distribution rights in North America to LINOLEUM, including theatrical, digital, video-on-demand, broadcast, and home entertainment for cross-platform releases. Shout! Studios plans a strategic launch of this movie across all major entertainment platforms, beginning with a theatrical launch later this year.
